Help all girls know they can do anything.
No matter how much time you have to give – there’s an opportunity for you in Girlguiding North Yorkshire North East.
Find your place in our team of inspirational women, sharing your skills and passions with girls in a local Unit. Whether you have been a member since Rainbows or have just discovered us we would love to welcome you to Girlguiding in our friendly county.
Choose from these hands-on volunteering roles that make guiding happen!
Unit Leader
Get creative, have fun and be an inspiring role model to girls and young women. As a Unit Leader you will run the Unit, lead a team of volunteers, and plan a deliver a programme of awesome activities. To become a Unit Leader, you will complete Girlguiding’s leader development programme and will be supported by an experienced local mentor to guide you through the process.
If you’ve got what it takes to be a Unit Leader, we want to hear from you!
Unit Helpers
Unit helpers work alongside other volunteers to give girls fun, friendship, and challenge. Unit helpers are not responsible for planning but are the extra pair of hands needed to make unit meetings happen. If you are enthusiastic about Girlguiding, then you will make a perfect unit helper.
Young Leaders
Volunteering for Girlguiding is not just for adults.
If you are age 14-17 and want to gain some leadership skills whilst having an amazing time, then being a young leader is the perfect role for you. You will be part of a team of volunteers who run weekly meetings to help girls have fun, learn new skills, build friendships, and have adventures.
Supporting Roles
If you are unable to help every week there are still a variety of ways to get involved. There are roles to fit everyone’s skills, and we have a network of supporting roles that help Girlguiding happen behind the scenes.
Every role is vital and if you can support Girlguiding NYNE in any way, please register your interest online.
