From A169 Pickering to Whitby:

Take A169 from Pickering to Whitby. After about 11 miles take first left turn to Goathland. After about 2.5 miles you will enter the village of Goathland and come to a mini-roundabout. Turn left. Continue on this road for a few miles until you come to a crossroads. Take the right hand turn signposted Esk Valley 1 mile. Continue along this road until you come to another sign to your right for Esk Valley. Turn right and go down the steep hill. Holme House is the first house on your left hand side as you come to the bottom of the hill. It has a wooden gate (which may be closed) and a courtyard to park in.

From A171 Guisborough to Whitby:

Approx 15 miles after Scaling Dam, on a left hand bend, take the right hand turn towards Egton. In Egton turn right when you come to a junction and continue through village towards Egton Bridge. When you come to Egton Bridge continue through the village. On the outskirts veer left up the steep hill towards Goathland.  Towards the top of the hill take a left turn signposted Goathland/Pickering.  Continue on this road (ignoring the sign post on the left to Esk Valley).  When you come to a crossroads with the Roman Road, turn left (signposted Esk Valley 1 mile).  Continue along this narrow, windy road, past a farmhouse until you come to a sign for Esk Valley Only. Turn right and go down the steep hill. Holme House is the first house on your left hand side as you come to the bottom of the hill. It has a wooden gate (which may be closed) and courtyard to park in.

From Whitby:

Just out of Whitby on A171 heading for Guisborough, take a left hand turn for Egton. Follow the instructions from Egton as above.
